We offer a number of training options to support effective case work practices. Drawing on evidence-based research we have developed a dynamic case work model that has demonstrated positive outcomes with at-risk clients.
The effective case work model consists of four core elements each with specific tasks:
- Mapping (engage and assess needs and strengths)
- Finding the Hook (enhance motivation and build commitment)
- Moving Forward (mobilize and build strategies, supports and services)
- Reviewing and Supporting (monitor progress and reinforce successes)
The goal of the training is to provide staff with the skills and resources to support activities at each stage.
During training staff gain experience in engaging clients, introductory and advanced interviewing techniques, case conceptualization and mapping, working collaboratively to establish the targets of intervention, goal setting, modeling and reinforcement, methods to teach clients new skills, and proactive case work.
