CR/2™ is a communication model designed to foster productive interactions with justice-involved women and girls. Grounded in cutting-edge research on the neuro-physiology of trauma and resilience, CR/2 translates research on trauma-informed care, evidence-based, and promising interventions into an integrated approach that can enhance outcomes with justice-involved women and girls. CR/2 was jointly developed by Orbis Partners and Core Associates, LLC.
The CR/2 model and accompanying workbook introduce gender-responsive skills and strategies that have demonstrated positive results in:
- Enhancing motivation
- Supporting growth and behavior change
- Reducing recidivism
CR/2 is relevant for all professionals who work with justice-involved women and girls including institutional staff, community-based treatment providers, case managers, and those who work in probation and parole. The accompanying workbook includes exercises, case examples, and reflective activities that demonstrate how CR/2 can be used to work more effectively with women and girls in the moment and across a variety of professional roles, functions and tasks, including:
- Crisis management and de-escalation
- Maintaining professional boundaries
- Conducting assessments, building case plans, facilitating groups
- Fulfilling operational procedures
CR/2 also includes a self-care component designed to support practitioners as they do this important work.
Participants are introduced to CR/2 in a 2-day on-site training or in a 12-hour eTraining course.
